Sports Massage

Sports massage is a specific targeted massage for a range of muscle aches and pains. Muscles are massaged, stretched, and manipulated using a variety of techniques to help alleviate pain whilst restoring full functional movement, which is often compromised when muscles become tight, and dysfunctional.  I can also analyse your posture, and we can assess any muscle imbalances and weaknesses.  I usually give a variety of post care exercises, and if necessary I will recommend and refer you to use another health care practitioner as and when necessary.  Sports Massage is not just for sporting people, as we use our muscles for everything, sitting, lying down and standing up. Get in touch if you have any queries.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a general body massage using a variety of techniques enabling me to work deeper into the soft tissue. This is great for anyone suffering with a few knots or movement restriction. I always work within the client’s limits so pressure is modified accordingly. The objective for me is to make the client feel as relaxed as possible during a Deep Tissue Massage Treatment. When a person is relaxed, so are their muscles, so I am able to give a better quality massage, by working more deeply into the muscles.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Lymphatic Drainage Massage is brilliant for anyone with any kind of swelling.  It is very, very gentle.  The client is fully clothed, and the massage begins with the opening of the main lymphatic drainage valves located around the breast bone.  Then I gently massage the skin, pushing the lymph along, up to the nearest lymph drainage point (armpit, knee etc).  A brilliantly gentle therapy to aid with self healing and the reduction of swelling.

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is all about relaxation. Strokes tend to be light but purposeful. I keep the couch comfortable with a heated blanket, oils are organics and fragrant. It can be a full body massage, or back, neck, and shoulders.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone Massage – more heat means more relaxation to the muscles.  Using warm basalt stones, I follow a full body massage routine massaging with the stones.  They are heated in warm water, and a light and gentle oil is used as a medium prior to applying the stones.  Any tight areas, pressure can be applied using the stones.  This often gives a deeper, more therapeutic massage, due to the heat of the stone

Warm Bamboo Massage

This is a wonderful massage, which I am delighted to offer, as it has only been taught in the UK over the last few years. Again, the body is massaged using a variety of different shaped bamboo sticks.  These are gently rolled over the skin.  This works well in alleviating tension.  A fab treatment with the spa factor!

Indian Head Massage

This is seated clothed massage, with ayurvedic influences. This style of massage is commonly practised in India. It involves upper back and arm massage, scalp, neck and face massage. Gentle but stimulating. Use of oil depends on you.  It takes 45 minutes and is extremely relaxing.
